It's been awhile. I've been through a building fire, dressed up as Snake Plissken for Halloween and most recently went on a trip to San Francisco. In the middle of all this fun real-life stuff, I managed to finish Chapter 5 of Black Rain.
You can pick it up here. Please note that (like the previous chapters) this chapter has some pretty serious adult themes, including a really creepy part near the end that I won't give away.
This chapter also has tons of text, a cliche prostitute with a heart of gold, and a really unlikable pimp. I honestly can't say that I liked the story too much, but don't let that stop you from reading it (I put a lot of work into translating it). Hopefully I'll enjoy the next chapter more and be able to get it done quicker.

Struck by Black Rain, Chaper 4 is (finally) done!
After a long hiatus due to moving to a new apartment, illness, and various other real-life inconveniences, I'm pleased to announce that Chapter 4 of Struck by Black Rain is finished. You can pick it up here.
I enjoyed this chapter much more than the previous one. The characters were more interesting and sympathetic. I admit I teared up near the end. Also, a quick note on the chapter title. In Japanese it's 黒い蝿の叫び声に or "By/To/In the Scream of the Black Fly". However, I removed the preposition when translating the title, because in English it's meaningless without a verb attached.
I would guess the full title is supposed to be "Shaken by the Scream of the Black Fly" or something similar, but it's just a guess. So I went with "The Scream of the Black Fly" instead.
Anyway, I hope to have chapter 5 our relatively soon. Enjoy!

Farewell Tokimeki Tonight
After working on Tokimeki Tonight for over two years, I have given my blessing to another scanlation group to pick up where I left off.
It is with both joy and sadness (and a bit of relief) that I write this announcement. Tokimeki has been a very enjoyable project, but also incredibly time-consuming and sometimes stressful. I know many of the readers would like more frequent releases, and since I'm not able to accommodate that, Friendship Scans will take over work on the series.
I think this will benefit everyone, as Friendship Scans can do faster releases, and this will leave me with more time to work on other projects. I hope everyone has enjoyed--and will continue to enjoy--reading Tokimeki Tonight.

Struck by Black Rain, Chapter 3 is done!
Hi everyone, and belated Happy Holidays! Chapter 3 of Struck by Black Rain is done, and you can pick it up here.
A couple of notes about this chapter. First, I really didn't care for it as much as the previous two chapters. The characters weren't engaging, the old man's rants go on forever, and there's not much action. Still, I did my best translating and editing it.
Second, I'm not sure why Yoshimura calls his friend Outa "kacchin", but it looked like just a nickname, so I left it in.
I hope everyone enjoys this chapter despite my criticisms. Stay tuned for another chapter of Tokimeki Tonight!

Tokimeki Tonight, Volume 4 Chapter 5
The next chapter of Tokimeki is finally done! You can pick it up here.
This chapter was a fun one to translate, and the editing was MUCH easier than the previous chapter. No crazy redrawing required this time.
Enjoy!

Struck by Black Rain, Chapter 2 is done!
I've just finished chapter 2 of "Struck by Black Rain" and you can pick it up here.
This was a pretty interesting (but very depressing) chapter. There's a lot more talk here than in chapter 1. The letter at the end was really difficult to edit in, so my apologies if it didn't turn out perfect. I tried the best I could. :)
Also, the father character uses the expression 目くそが鼻くそを笑う ("the pot calling the kettle black") a couple of times to describe people who are prejudiced against atomic bomb victims, and I must admit I don't quite understand why he uses this phrase. My guess (and it is just that) is that he uses it to mean that those who are prejudiced could have been hit by the atomic bomb as well (and perhaps are hiding it).
And for the fans of Tokimeki Tonight, I haven't forgotten about you. I'll have a new chapter of Tokimeki ready in a few weeks.

Tokimeki Tonight, Volume 4, Chapter 4 is finally done!
After a lot of hard work, the next chapter of Tokimeki Tonight is finished! You can get it here!
The "find-the-prince" arc is progressing nicely, and I can't wait to find out what happens next. Also, this kept running through my head as I edited page 100 for what seemed like hours:
